Happy Easter

This morning in church we sang Jesus Paid it All.  I love the song and the verse that corresponds with it, "Come now, let us reason together,’ says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool," Isaiah 1:18.  What a wonderful verse for this weekend!

Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

Happy Easter!

It's The Weekend

We've had a great weekend!

Saturday morning we were finally able to finish our dining table.  I love it and Chase did a great job!  Project number one completed.

(Nala looks very unhappy)

Then Saturday night, downtown Ardmore hosted "A Taste of Ardmore" which is when the city closes off Main Street and restaurants around town have booths where you can purchase food and drinks.  They also had a couple of bands come and perform, one of which was Pat Green.  We had a fun night with great food and music!

Today, Sunday, was the A2A (Arbuckle to Ardmore) race and I was able to help out with the Ardmore Young Professional's Water station for the Half and Full Marathon.
(This was the only picture I took of half of the water station)

Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!  Hope yours was just as good!

Front Door Decor

Lately I've been looking at making a wreath for my front door, but couldn't decide what look I wanted. Then I came across this "letter door hanger" on Pinterest and I thought, how easy!  So I hurried down to Hobby Lobby and got all of the supplies needed.

The letter only took about 30 minutes to make, my type of project for sure!  And I think it turned out pretty good!

Ottoman Re-Do

Well I've had this ottoman since I got married, and I couldn't stand the fabric pattern.  I also did not want to get rid of it because I used it so much.  So, since my mom is awesome at sewing, and hopefully I will be too one day, I found some fabric that I liked and we quickly got to work!
Here is the before picture.

We were able to use the old fabric as a pattern for the new fabric.

The finished ottoman!

I think it turned out great!  Thanks mom!
Since I'm constantly changing my mind, maybe I should stain the legs a little darker?? Thoughts?

Dining Table in the Making

The last day before we moved, Chase suggested that we leave our dining table behind and "get a new one."  I didn't have to think for a second before I answered him and said "ok."!!!!  I had just the one in mind.  I loved the Benchwright Dining table from Pottery Barn, but then on Pinterest I found one that we (Chase) could make that was almost identical to the PB table, actually it's a replica of the Farmhouse Salvaged Wood Dining Table from Restoration Hardware.

So a couple of weeks ago, we went and bought all of the wood and supplies that we would need to make our new dining table.  We've worked on it for the past 3 Saturday's and here's some pictures of how far we've come.  Hopefully this weekend, we'll be able to put the stain, polyurethane, and wax on it and then we're done!!

Don't worry, I'll post pictures of the finished product!

Moving Trip out West

On the evening of January 29th, Chase, Chase's mom, my mom and me left Lakeland and began our cross country journey to Ardmore, OK.  The trip took about 22 hours, driving non-stop!  It was a long trip to say the least.

When we arrived in Ardmore, the house we are renting was a complete disaster, and I'm not even exagerating!  After talking with the landlord, he hired a cleaning crew to come clean the house the next morning.  In the meantime, we were also cleaning.  The kitchen and bathroom had this ugly wallpaper, so we asked the landlord if we could paint over it and he said ok.  Once we bought paint, we got started right away.  The kitchen handles were gold, so we spray painted them Oil Rubbed Bronze and it made a big difference.

After cleaning, painting, and unpacking for 4 days, we decided to take one day off and head to Dallas for some shopping!  Poor Chase, had to shop with 3 women, he's such a trooper.  I think he secretly enjoyed it :).

We are so grateful that my mom and mother in law came with us because we could not have done it without them.  By the end of the week, we had every box unpacked and everything put away, now that was work!

Here are some before and after pictures and I hope you like them. These pictures were from right when we moved in, and we've changed a few things, but I think you get the idea.

We miss all of our friends and family and can't wait to see you all soon!!
